Wolf Park is happy to announce the arrival of three Gray Fox kits! Gray foxes, Urocyon cinereoargenteus, are native to the area where Wolf Park is located. They are different from the red foxes (Vulpes vulpes) currently on display. Gray foxes are smaller, less widespread, and more arboreal (they spend more time in trees).
The kits are named Gypsum (male), Hunter (female), and Ifa (female).
So that they will not be afraid of humans when they grow up, the fox kits will be socialized to humans using the methodologies Wolf Park have developed over the past 41 years to socialize wolf pups. That means that they will have human contact around the clock as young kits. Visitors are welcome to view the kits in their nursery during regular open hours!
