Todd H. Satterfield, 52, of Lafayette, passed away at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Born December 29, 1960 in Lafayette, he was the son of Philip H. Satterfield and Janice A. “Jan” (May) Satterfield Rearick (husband, Lloyd) of Lafayette. He was a 1979 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School and formerly attended Ivy Tech.
Todd married Brenda Love in June of 1985 in Lafayette and, although they later divorced, they remained close friends. He worked at Von Tobel Lumber on and off for 25 years and he volunteered at Wolf Park. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. Todd was very outgoing and touched so many lives. He was an avid movie buff, especially “Batman”, and enjoyed woodworking. He adored his grandchildren.
Surviving with his parents are two daughters, Bobbi Jo Hewitt (husband, Nathan) and Emma Satterfield, and a brother Ty Satterfield (wife, Ann) all of Lafayette; and three grandchildren Payton Wise, Ava Grace Adriano, and Jackson Todd Lancaster all at home. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Cindy Guy and nieces and nephews Meghan Lovelette, Tyler and Mason Guy, Ondraa, Alexis, Jesse, and Adison Satterfield all of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Jesse and Melba May and paternal grandparents Ray and Elizabeth Satterfield.
Memorial visitation at Hippensteel Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 14, with a memorial service following at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or COTA Children’s Organ Transplant Association.
Beyond the formal obituary above…Todd was a great friend to many generations of Wolf Park interns and volunteers, helping them through the hard times and the good times. He was a part of Wolf Park for many years, and will always have a place in our hearts. Piso mojado, Batman — er, Todd!
